What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable gels containing hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in your skin. How Do Dermal Fillers Work?

Ideally, schedule your appointment at least 4wks before a major event like a wedding or holiday to ensure the treatment has time to fully settle and allow time for any touchups, if needed.
Avoid taking aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen, Advil®, Motrin®, Aleve®, Celebrex®, Fish oil, Ginko Biloba, St. John’s Wort and high doses of vitamin E for 7-10 days prior to procedure.
If you’re on blood thinning medications for a medical condition, please consult with your doctor before discontinuing.
Avoid consuming alcohol 24h prior to your appointment.
NO dental work (including teeth cleaning) for 2wks before AND after treatment
Please eat a meal or at least a small snack before you arrive
Please come with a clean face (NO MAKEUP or heavy moisturizer)
The practitioner will first perform a full facial evaluation and talk with you about what your areas of concern are in order to expertly tailor your treatment plan.
Topical numbing cream or a small injection of local anesthetic will be used prior to treatment to ensure your comfort during your treatment.
A fine needle or cannula will then be used to inject small amount of filler into the desired areas.
The process is usually very comfortable, you may just feel a light pinch on injection.
The injection process usually only takes 15-45min depending on the area(s) being treated.
Avoid Ibuprofen, Advil or Motrin for at least 48h. Tylenol is acceptable to take if experiencing discomfort (if not contraindicated)
If there is bruising or swelling after treatment, you can take Arnica pills (available over the counter) as directed on the package for 3-5 days.
You may ice the area with GENTLY after your treatment, only if needed.
Patients should avoid strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours.
No excessive pressure on the treated area for at least 72h
Filler can take up to 2-4wks to fully settle. Lumps, bumps, unevenness, and swelling are common in the first 2wks.
