  • Please fill out the intake paperwork listed on your appointment confirmation thoroughly and accurately, including your medical history, all medications, & herbal supplements.
  • To reduce the risk of bruising, refrain from consuming alcohol, aspirin, and anti-inflammatory medications at least 24-48 hours before the treatment.
    • Do not discontinue any prescription blood thinners without first consulting with your physician.
  • Please arrive to your appointment with clean skin, free of makeup or any topical products.
  • The practitioner will first perform a full facial evaluation and talk with you about what your areas of concern are in order to expertly tailor your treatment plan.
  • After your treatment is mapped out, we use either topical lidocaine or a small injection of local anesthetic at the injection sites.
  • We then use a fine needle or cannula to inject small amounts of Sculptra into the target areas.
  • Mild discomfort or a slight pinching sensation may be felt. The injection process itself typically only takes 15-20 minutes, depending on the number of areas.
  • After the treatment is complete, we gently massage the area to ensure even spread of the product for the most even results.
  • Avoid Ibuprofen, Advil or Motrin for 48h. Tylenol is acceptable to take if experiencing discomfort (if not contraindicated)
  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 24h after treatment to help attenuate bruising.
  • Avoid saunas or steam rooms for 48-72h to prevent infection
  • Tenderness at the injection site, bruising, and sometimes headaches are common after treatment. You may gently ice the area for comfort and swelling.
  • Massage the areas 5 times a day, for 5 minutes each time, for 5 days after treatment to prevent nodule formation. (The 5-5-5 Rule!)
  • The volume improvement seen immediately post-treatment WILL go away over 48-72h as the sterile water is absorbed.
  • The collagen remodeling process begins after about 3-4 weeks, so you may begin to see results after 1 month or longer and results will continue to improve over 3-4 months.
    • Repeat treatments at 5-6wk intervals are often done to reach full correction. The number of treatments will be determined by your provider’s evaluation of your skin and the level of correction needed.
