Aftercare Instructions

You just invested in your skin — and how you care for it over the next few days directly affects your results. Every guide below is specific to your treatment, so you know exactly what to expect, what to avoid, and when to reach out.

  • Avoid Ibuprofen, Advil or Motrin for 48h. Tylenol is acceptable to take if experiencing discomfort (if not contraindicated)
  • Do not exercise for 4-6h after treatment
  • No hats, headbands, or any pressure on the treated area for 4-6h after treatment, including ice.
  • You can “flex” the injected muscles for 30-45min after your treatment to help the Botox absorb faster, but it will not negatively affect your treatment if you don’t.
  • Tenderness at the injection site, bruising, and sometimes headaches are common after treatment. 
  • Results can often be seen starting within 3-5 days and can take 10-14days to reach maximum effect.
  • After 2 FULL weeks, if you notice any issues with your treatment, please notify your provider.
    • Results often last between 3-4mo
    • Light dose= shorter duration, but more natural movement
    • Heavy dose= longer duration, but less natural movement

  • Avoid Ibuprofen, Advil or Motrin for at least 48h. Tylenol is acceptable to take if experiencing discomfort (if not contraindicated)
  • If there is bruising or swelling after treatment, you can take Arnica pills (available over the counter) as directed on the package for 3-5 days.
  • You may ice the area with GENTLE pressure after your treatment.
  • Patients should avoid strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours as directed by your provider
  • No excessive pressure on the treated area for 48-72h
  • Filler can take up to 2wks to fully settle. Lumps, bumps, unevenness, and swelling are common in the first 2wks.
  • After 2 FULL weeks, if you notice any issues with your treatment, please notify your provider.
  • Please notify your provider of any excessive redness, swelling, or drainage from your injection sites.
  • Please notify your provider immediately if you notice any abnormal appearing bruising or discoloration or bruising in an area that was not injected (i.e. on the side of your nose after smile line injections)

  • Avoid Ibuprofen, Advil or Motrin for 48h.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 24-48h after treatment as directed by your provider
  • Tenderness at the injection site, bruising, and sometimes headaches are common after treatment. You can gently ice the area for comfort and swelling.
  • Massage the areas 5 times a day, for 5 minutes each time, for 5 days after treatment to prevent nodule formation.
  • The volume improvement seen immediately post-treatment WILL go away over 48-72h as the sterile water is absorbed.
  • The collagen remodeling process begins after about 3-4 weeks, so you may begin to see results after 1 month or longer and results will continue to improve over 3-4months.
    • Repeat treatments at 4-6wk intervals are often needed to reach full correction. The number of treatments required will be determined by your provider’s evaluation of your skin and volume loss.

  • Do not wash your face for at least 5h after your treatment.
  • The evening of your treatment and the morning after:
    • Wash your face with the Gentle Cleaner, pat dry
    • Apply half of the remaining V-Tech exosomes from the syringe. Rub in well and allow to dry completely
    • Apply half of the V-Tech Gel Mask from the gold packet, rub in well and allow to fully absorb and dry.
    • Apply thin layer of Hydrating Cream if needed
  • AM/PM after that for 5-7 days or until sandpaper feeling is completely gone:
    • Wash with Gentle Cleanser
    • Apply thin layer of Hydrating Crème (can be applied 2-3x/day as needed)
    • Apply sunscreen daily (at least SPF 30)
  • Your skin may feel warm like a sunburn for 2-4h post-treatment and overnight, you may use a cool compress for comfort
  • Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating for 24h. After that, be careful to pat (not wipe) sweat from your face.
  • Avoid procedures, such as facials, hair removal, microdermabrasion, and laser for 2 weeks
  • Avoid make-up for at least 24h, then use clean applicators and mineral based make-up products.
  • Skin may feel like sandpaper for 4-7 days. Do not scrub or use exfoliants to remove it, allow it to come off naturally.
  • Once the “sandpaper” feeling has resolved, you may slowly resume your normal skincare routine.

  • You may experience a burning sensation for 2-3 hours immediately after the treatment. Cooling with an cool compress (not direct ice) can provide relief to the treated area. Make sure to enclose the cool pack in a clean covering.
  • Swelling is common and expected for after treatment, especially around the eyes and is usually worse first thing in the morning.
    • An allergy medicine like Benadryl, Zyrtec, or Allegra can be taken daily to help calm the body’s histamine response.
  • You might experience pinpoint bleeding, especially after your first facial cleanse. If this occurs, gently pat the area using a clean gauze pad.
 
  • The evening of your treatment and the morning after:
    • Wash your face with the Gentle Cleaner, pat dry
    • Apply half of the remaining V-Tech exosomes from the syringe. Rub in well and allow to dry completely
    • Apply half of the V-Tech Gel Mask from the gold packet, rub in well and allow to fully absorb and dry.
    • Apply thin layer of Hydrating Cream
 
  • It is important to keep the skin moisturized and hydrated after the treatment. For the next 5-7 days or until peeling is complete:
    • Cleanse the skin am and pm with ZO Gentle Cleanser, then apply thin layer of Hydrating Crème
    • You may also apply ZO Hydrating cream to the treated area 3-4 times a day as needed for the next 5-7 days. This will promote healing as well as reduce the risk of infection.
    • You may also do vinegar soaks (1/2 TBS white vinegar to 1 cup water) multiple times a day to soothe the skin and promote healing.
  • After peeling is complete, continue to use Cleanser, Hydrating Crème am and pm until 2 weeks post-treatment, then you may resume your regular skincare routine. 
  • The newly generated skin is sensitive and must be protected from both sunlight and heat. Use a broad spectrum SPF of at least 30+. Use an umbrella, cap or any available protections against outdoor sun light.
  • When the skin returns to intact state (no peeling), you may wash, apply mineral makeup, gently shave, or take a shower regularly.
  • Depending on your skin type, you may also be instructed to use ZO Pigment Control Crème twice a day for 2 weeks once the peeling has stopped to prevent post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. 
  • Avoid using alcohol-containing or harsh cosmetics at least for 2 weeks after the treatment.
  • Avoid vigorous activity for the first week post treatment or until initial healing has occurred. Increased irritation may result from any activity that increases blood flow or body temperature (i.e. alcohol consumption, exercise, sauna).
  • You may resume your regular skincare routine after 2 weeks or as directed by your provider.
 
  • Do not wash your face for at least 5h after your treatment.
  • The evening of your treatment and the morning after:
    • Wash your face with the Gentle Cleaner, pat dry
    • Apply half of the remaining V-Tech exosomes from the syringe. Rub in well and allow to dry completely
    • Apply half of the V-Tech Gel Mask from the gold packet, rub in well and allow to fully absorb and dry.
    • Apply thin layer of Hydrating Cream if needed
  • The skin may feel tight, dry, and sensitive to touch, similar to a sunburn, for 2-3days. Some people experience light flaking for up to 5-7 days depending on how aggressive your treatment was.
  • General Post-care for 1-2 weeks am and pm:
    • Wash with gentle cleanser
    • Apply 2 pumps of Daily Power Defense (or other gentle moisturizer)
    • Apply thin layer of hydrating crème (can be applied 2-3x/day)
    • Apply sunscreen (am only)
  • Redness, stinging, itching, mild swelling, and mild flaking are all normal signs after Microneedling and may vary between patients.
  • Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for 2wks
  • After 24 hours, always use a full spectrum sunscreen SPF30 or above.
  • Avoid sauna, steam rooms, and hot tubs for 24-48h due to risk of irritation and infection
  • Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating until skin is completely healed.
  • Avoid procedures, such as facials, hair removal, microdermabrasion, and laser until skin is fully healed.
  • Avoid “active” skincare products until skin is healed (i.e. AHA, Glycolic, etc), usually 1-2 weeks.
  • You may resume your normal skincare routine after 1-2wks based on provider recommendation.

  • Do not wash your face for at least 5h after your treatment.
  • The evening of your treatment:
    • Wash your face with a gentle cleaner
    • Apply the remaining Retinol packet to the entire face, rub in well
    • Apply thin layer of hydrating cream
  • The morning after and in the evenings (until peeling is done):
    • Wash with gentle cleanser
    • Apply 2 pumps of Daily Power Defense (or other gentle moisturizer)
    • Apply thin layer of hydrating crème (can be applied 2-3x/day)
    • Apply sunscreen (am only)
  • Sunscreen should be worn daily starting the day after your procedure.
  • Redness, stinging, itching, mild swelling, flaking, and peeling are all normal signs after the peel and vary based on patient responses.
  • Peeling will usually start 2-3 days after treatment and usually lasts 5-6 days.
  • Avoid rubbing, scratching, peeling/picking the skin while healing. You may use cuticle scissors to trim off excess pieces of flaking skin.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 7-10 days following the peel.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating until skin is completely healed.
  • Avoid procedures such as facials, hair removal, microdermabrasion, and laser until skin is fully healed. (at least 2 weeks, but consult with your provider)
  • Avoid “active” skincare products until skin is healed (i.e. AHA, Glycolic, Retinol, etc), usually 2 weeks
  • Once the peeling has stopped (5-7 days) you may resume your normal routine otherwise.

Anal Botox Aftercare
  • Avoid Ibuprofen, Advil or Motrin for at least 48h.
    • Tylenol is acceptable to take if experiencing discomfort (if not contraindicated)
  • Take it easy and relax the rest of the day. You may resume normal activity the day after your treatment.
  • Notify your provider of any heavy bleeding with bowel movements.
  • Results can often be felt within 2 weeks with maximum result being around 4 weeks.
  • Ease back into sexual activity gradually
  • About 5% of patients notice an increase in passing gas. These symptoms resolve over time.
  • Dietary restrictions are not necessary following Anal Botox injections.
    • It is best to avoid alcohol for up to 1 week.
    • To prevent constipation, take two tablespoons of natural wheat bran, natural oat bran, or any over the counter fiber supplement with 7-8 ounces of water for 3-5 days after the procedure.
  • If receiving treatment for a fissure, do not use enemas or insert anything into the anus for at least 6wks
  • Follow up with your provider in 4-6wks to assess treatment efficacy and evaluate for potential re-treatment.
  • Treatment can be expected to last 3-4mo
 
  • Avoid Ibuprofen, Advil®, or Motrin® for at least 48 hours following treatment.
    Tylenol® may be used for discomfort if needed (if not contraindicated).
  • Mild tenderness, swelling, redness, or bruising in the treated area is common and typically resolves within a few days.
  • Take it easy for the remainder of the day. You may resume normal daily activities the following day.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, cycling, or activities that place prolonged pressure on the groin area for 24 hours.
  • Avoid hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and prolonged heat exposure for 48 hours.
  • Wear supportive but comfortable underwear for the first 24–48 hours to minimize swelling and discomfort.
  • Results typically begin to be noticeable within a few days, with full effects developing 2-4 weeks after treatment.
  • Some patients experience temporary increased sweating, heaviness, or a “relaxed” sensation in the scrotum as the medication takes effect. These sensations are expected and improve as the body adjusts.
  • Avoid sexual activity for 24 hours, or until tenderness has resolved.
  • Do not massage or manipulate the treated area unless instructed by your provider.
  • Follow up with your provider in 2-4 weeks to assess treatment results and determine if dose adjustments or future treatments are needed.

  • Results typically begin to be noticeable within a few days, with full effects developing 2-4 weeks after treatment.
  • Avoid sexual activity for 24 hours, or until tenderness has resolved.
  • Do not massage or manipulate the treated area unless instructed by your provider.
  • Follow up with your provider in 2-4 weeks to assess treatment results and determine if dose adjustments or future treatments are needed.
  • Bruising and tenderness is common due to the negative pressure created from the vacuum pump. This usually resolves within a couple of days.
  • Avoid Ibuprofen, Advil, or Motrin for at least 48h
  • Avoid alcohol and nicotine products for 48-72h after to your appointment
  • Eat a healthy diet and drink at least 64oz of water per day
  • You may resume sexual activity in 24h. Ensure that you clean the area very well before and after sex.
  • Use the Vacuum Pump for 10min 2x/day (or one 20min session with a short break) at a pressure of -10 every day for 4-6wks to maximize effectiveness of the procedure.
    • You may substitute sex or masturbation for this. The goal is to have an erection for at least 10-20min a day, however that occurs.
  • Results are seen by some within 24-48h, but can take up to 2 weeks.
  • Depending on your current level of erectile dysfunction, up to 3 treatments may be required at 4-6wk intervals.
  • When restarting ED medications (Viagra, Cialis, Trimix), start with half the dose you used prior to treatment and increase if needed.
